Don't even think about doing a re-gear yourself unless you've had a lot of experience. Too many expensive parts get destroyed if you make the slightest mistake.

GET 5.13!!! I just got them put on today... couldnt be happier!!! in city driving is much improved! havent had a chance to test high way too much yet... Definately worth the price! Get them with Dave at Northridge!!

I have an '09 Rubicon Unlimited with 35's, auto, and stock 4:10 gears. I'm happy with the preformance both on and off road. I'm not planning on regearing.

I too thought i could get away with keeping the 4:10s but after getting the 35's, the constant downshifting and upshifting on the highway was my breaking point. Sure you can run with the OD off but my mileage went down to 12 mpg. After getting the 5:13s mileage is at 15, rpms are 2500@70mph and more importantly no more downshifting on the slightest hill.

I'm a newbie, so excuse the question...in general does changing the gearing run you at lower RPM'S and provide more power in the form of torque? And does this equate to potentially better gas mileage when driving city/hwy? Or, am I way off here?
