Default Aussie locker install

Hey all. Just got my Aussie locker in the mail. Going to start the install tomorrow. Anyone suggest or give any tips to do or look out for during the installation process. I am going to try to do a nice write up on the install as I go through. Installed tomorrow, test out Saturday.

Awesome. I'm doing it soon. There's an 18 minute install video online. Google search "Aussie locker install" and it will be one of the first results. I've watched it several times and one thing I noticed is that he put axle grease on everything during the install so that nothing moves around or slips out of place while your putting it back together. Also, put a mark on the ring gear and the carrier so it lines back up when you put the ring gear back on. Good luck. Can't wait to see the write up.

Yeah I've got two knowledgable friends and all the tools your could imagine. We are in the process of stretching my friends TJ and putting 60s under it.

If you're able to do that, the aussie won't be a problem at all. It was the most difficult install i've done yet and it went smooth as can be. One thing I figured out the hard way that the video doesn't say is to reinstall the small pin holding the carrier pin in place in the side with the ring gear facing up. i.e. the way it came out. That might be something you could figure out but I didn't. And yea the axle grease really helps out.

The performance was awesome with it. I couldn't have made it through some of the trails we had to go through without it. Oh and it makes your front end more succeptible to breaking an axle. TAKE IT SLOW. I didn't...

i havnt snaped any axle's. but i do take it pretty easy off road.

manual, 3.73's for me. not to turn you away from it. but when I get a chance im going to figure another solution out for a front locker. I dont like the lunch box idea in the front.

Manual X model with 3.21s and 33" BFG ATs... can't really crawl slow enough so I ended up hitting a rock too hard.
