As a quick example at 62.5 mph there is only about 130 RPM difference between the two.
A 143 RPM difference at about 70.3 mph. The difference here is pretty small.

This is roughly the same RPM difference I see when changing from 32.3 tire ( stock ) and 32.8 tire ( M//T MTZ's ) but on a side note .....
I see approx 1.5 to 2 mpg diffrence between the two also with a 6-speed

Im just wondering what is stuck on the face of his radio, it looks like the protective film from the factory
Back on topic...........the 5.13's with an auto and 35's are the only way to go IMO

Ooo, a VA Beach JK. I think I might of seen you cruising around a bit, not sure. I'm at my final decision on gearing too. I'm a manual and my math tells me 4.88. 4.56 would actually put me a stock like performance but with the extra weight of my bumpers and winch I was thinking 4.88. If I had an Unlimited Auto I would certainly go 5.13. It's a big decision. You thinking about using ETA to install?
I think I'll be doing 4.88s also. I'm not sure where I'm going to go for the gearing, but I can tell you it won't be ETA. When I was putting on my TF 3" lift, I had to get an adjustable front trackbar quick, and they quoted me one price over the phone and then wanted to charge me another when I was there. Bad experience.
Any recommendations for where to get gearing done?

4.88's or 5.13's
I'm glad to see others are struggling with this decision as well. I currently have 35's, and a manual with 4.10's; and, I think it drives fairly well. Seems to me that if I had an auto, the decision would be a no-brainer. I guess the deciding point would be if I were to consider getting 37's later on (thing is, with the 4" lift and 35's, the Jeep sits pretty high, and we're all kind of short in my family -- 37's would just add that much more height.) Although, with what everyone is saying, that there is not much of an rpm difference, it would be better to, at least, have the option of going to 37's.
What about the argument that the 5.13's are possibly weaker than the 4.88's?
