Default Anyone Tried zRotopaX Fuel Pack System

I have been looking for a way to carry some fuel & water without adding those 5-gal. cans. I have heard about these FLAT packs and I am thinking 2-Gal. Gas and 1-gal. Water. Two questions, Is 2-gallons a good safety piece of mind and has anyone seen or tried these? The correct name is RotopaX Fuel Pack System......

I'm waiting on my Aberle Off-road aluminum rear bumper with tire carrier to show up, then I'll be looking for a way to mount a couple of these... love the size and attach mechanism on the Rotopax.

they look similar to the "Geri" system found at the Expedition One website:

http://www.expeditionone.biz/geri_main.htm

these RotoPax appear to be a bit more modular in nature...

both seem like worthwhile applications...

anyone with real-world experience???

Does it matter which way you store them? If I put them on my roof rack I would lay them flat (not the 4 gallon that would too much of a pain to lift up there)

I have two 4 gallon rotopax cans that I lay flat and tie down on my rack when I need to carry a lot of extra gas. They do not leak in this setup.

I love that setup...and that picture makes me pucker every time I see it. Doesn't look like a lot of room for error on that one.

Yeah pucker is right! That is Odessa Canyon Trail at Calico Ghost Town. It helps to really, really trust your spotter. You should make the drive down sometime and we will run it.
