I am adding 34s my new 2012 Rubi. I had an OME HD on my 08 with 35s and am looking to go a little smaller this time. I had difficulty parking in quite a few parking garages (hit my roof a couple times) with the old setup and had a lot of money in the additional parts needed to run 3.5" of lift.
I just ordered my tires and went with 34" BFG KM2s (285/75R17s) and will be running Black Rock 17s with 4.5 back spacing. Here is where I am a little undecided, run a small BB or even a leveling kit or just leave stock height no lift with flat fenders? I wheel it at Rausch Creek (rocks) or the Pine Barrens (mud) about once a month so I will need maintain good articulation and not trash my flares disconnected. Any thoughts on the AEV 2" BB? Looks like a complete kit for about $200. Any better than just spending $100 on a TF Leveling Kit?

I initially looked into this kit to run 35" km2s, my thought was that the aev spacers on top of my rubi springs would clear just fine. After talking to aev on the phone they said it would work on the street in theory but not offroad, they said 34"max. depending on how much you flex at rausch creek with the 285s you may be fine, but good chance you would have some rubbing issues, if you disconnect.

AEV kit- i just installed - it raised the front 2" and the back about 1.25" - i plan on getting flat flares, and possibly a 1" rough country body lift and changing the shocks(to elliminate the shock brackets)

AEV is all very nice components, all ex-jeep engineers run this company- and they are just about ready to release a new 2.5" full suspension lift too..

hey roxbury, does it look like a 35 would fit with the aev spacer kit. I know most 35s actually run about 34" +/-

It might be close, I think 34's would be fine ( 295/70/17 ) size or the 285/70/17 - depending on which brand of tire of course

Also, if you went with flat fenders it would clear no problem..

My next mod will likely be 1"Rough country body lift and/ or bush wacker flat flares.. then by spring I'd like to get
some black wheels and 33 or 34's hopefully

Does anyone run with the aev 2" spacer lift with their (aev) premium bumper and winch. Wondering how much sag there would be in the front with the extra weight. Pictures would be awesome.

For you guys that have installed one of these AEV 2" kits, did you dicard the factory spring isolater's in the rear like it says in the instructions and keep the front one's?
Just wondering about keeping the rear one also? Or would that be too much lift in the back without adjusting the trackbar and adding new swaybar links in the back?

I just installed this kit Friday and I left the stock isolator in place and stacked it with the new spacer from the kit just like they have you do in the front. It looks like this on mine.

That looks good, did you measure it up before and after? If so what did you gain front and rear? Does it drive as good as before the lift?
