Randy's Ring and Pinion test fit 538's last year in RubyDoo and they work fine. They used her for a week worth of test fitting when Yukon first came out with the gears for our JK's last year.

Default MPG & Power with 5.38's?

Did any of you that have 5.38's now run 5.13's beforehand? I am wondering how much more power you got with 5.38's and how much worse your MPG's were? Thanks

On some previous posts I had finally been conviced to give 5.38's a try since I am going with 37's and pulling a trailer.
We have an 08 Rubicon Unlimited on 37's with 5.38's - there great!

Oh man! I have got to get 5.38's. I have 5.13's with my 37's and not happy at all. No overdrive. Horrible gas mileage. Etc. You guys just made me spend some cash

I have 5:13's with 37's, 5:38's weren't out yet when I did mine. When I go with my CRD60's I'm going 5:38's. I'm getting about 16.5-17.13 mpg with a auto.

Does your OD kick out frequently on grades? Do you have any type of programmer to improve performance?

Default UPDATE on 5.38's with D44

Well, I got the lift installed. So, I am running 37's with 5.38 gears. Drives great! Feels just like stock except the extra height and steering is a little different after the lift. We'll see how it does on my way back up to the mountains to night....

well, I've been driving around, pulling a trailer also. Does pretty well on the mountain passes. A little less than stock while pulling a trailer. Good thing I went 5.38's and not 5.13's. They were the same price, so the only difference is going to be gas mileage. I think I am getting about 14 mpg.
