I am actually on the fence between 4.56 and 4.88 with manual. If you look at the gear chart 4.88 is a bit steep

Only drove my jeep home after installing the 4in lift and 35s and on the highway at 60mph. When i go up a incline of the freeway it is always looking to downshift so it can stay at 60mpg.

What is this superchips tuning you guys are talking about?

I have 3.21 and 33" tires. Off-roading is definitely doable but would be much nicer if I had a 4:1 TC or bette gears. I'm picking up a set of 4.88's today ... and hopefully negotiating a good price on the install as well .... My plan is to go to 35's as soon as I find a nice deal o them ....

I totally agree with planning your builds, and with 35s or larger should mean that gears are part of the equation. There is a wealth of knowledge here and the growth of that knowledge far exceeds where it was a year ago. Guys like planman and others have already paid the price of some mistakes along the way, myself included, which only serves to provide others a more cost effective means to have a killer rig that fits their budget.
thank you for the sacrifice.

Upgraded to the 35's a month ago. Still running the stock 4.10's on a manual transmission. Slower yes, but she wasn't flying out of the gate to begin with. Like others have said, 6th can be pretty useless up inclines and in the wind, but generally I have no complaints. I do live in FL where it's pretty flat. If it were more hilly, I might have a different opinion.
