I have BIG 35's on stock 4.10's no issues!

Of course I added a Superchip. Works wonders with my automatic!

I still beat all but sports cars off the line at lights to get out front, and they have to stick their foot in it! No official 0-60 times, but I say it's not much slower than stock.

I get about 16.3 average with it (50% town).

My wife had it for a week and was at 17.5 . I guess if you baby it you can get better mileage. LOL

Check out my pictures of it.... No matter what you should get the 35's first, add a superchip, and then decide if you need to re-gear.

It just depends on whether you have a manual or auto and your tolerance for pain.

From experience 3.73 + auto + 35s = no passing at 65 MPH & no OD on hills.

There are several with the 6 spd + 4.10s that say it is acceptable.

It all depends on your expectations.

35's with 3.73 Auto here, and I have no problems with it. I enjoy driving the speed limit as such this combo is not a problem. OD off on the highway and just sit back and enjoy the ride, it's a Jeep.

Plus I enjoy the disgruntled look in people's faces when they are stuck behind me and are forced to do the speed limit.

I have a 3.5 inch lift with 35's on an 08 auto. I tried a stage 1 chip with new intake and exhaust to try to recoup some of the drive but that did not do the trick. I just geared from 4:10 to 5:13 that seems to have done it. Very happy with it now.

I run 35's with 3:73's. The flash paq helped some. I'm not overly unhappy running this way. But I do plan on regearing in the future. But it will probably be the last mod I do on my list.

Huge differences between automatic transmissions and 6 speeds. If you believe OD off on the highway with the automatic transmission is acceptable, by all means stay with your stock gears. That would make your final driveline ratio the equivalent of 5.38s if you had 3.73s.

I'll see if I can bust out a chart for both autos and 6 speeds over the weekend for an OD off, or less 6th gear for the manual transmissions.

Myself, I don't find that as a solution, but a band aid. At the same time I also understand the funding issues that go along with purchasing new gears. I also think it is good advice to get your tires and lift before purchasing your gears so you can figure out your comfort level and the appropriate gear set. Lastly, and although not a replacement for gears, I do think a programmer of some sort is in order as you are going to need one anyway for speedo calibration and that will help you make the right decision on gears.

I have 3.73 gears auto trans and 35" km2. Runs good mpg is about 14. Road trips kind suck but when i get some more cash i will get new gears... Works good for now....

I have 35"s with 4:10 gears, 6-speed, and a flashpaq. I'm very happy with how it performs, but I could see needing to regear if I lived in a hilly or mountain area.

I ran 35's with the 3.21's (6 speed) for about 4 months before I re-geared. It wasn't the worst thing in the world - I just had to down shift for hills. FWIW - I don't do alot of highway miles, and only commute about 39 miles round trip to work.

The 4.88's are much better with the 35's.
