I know everyone says you need to regear if you are gonna run 35s but is there anyone who is runs them and didn't regear? If so please let me know your experience with this!

I would like to see some responses here also. I am about to go up 2.5" and am probably going with 33's but I would love 35"s.

I've had 35's and the factory Rubi gears for 2.5 years now and no issue, especially since I have a 6speed. Have plenty of juice on the highway, just need to down shift on steeper grades. Will run over 100mph on the highway, but cruises nicely at 85mph in 6th at around 2500rpm.

Stock gears as in 3.21, 3.73, or 4.10? Any of these gear ratios are possible but performance may not be acceptable. Do a search for the numerous threads on gears and tire size as well as the tire/gear ratio recommendation charts. IMO, with 35" tires, you cannot keep the JK 3.8L in the optimum RMP range with the stock gears, especially with an automatic.

I had 35's for awhile on my stck gears but they were 4.10's it was okay but sucked going down hill wheelin when I wanted to go slow and on the highway with a head wind. I had the auto

I now have a 2009 with 5.13's and 37's and the six speed manual and I LOVE IT!!!

I ran 35's with stock 4.10's for about a year and then switched to 4.88's about 6 months ago. I have the manual. I did notice a difference on the highway hills coming home but I am not sure I would do it again if I had the choice. I got 6th gear back on the highways if that really matters. On the rocks I had to ride the brakes in first before and I still do now. Either way it wants to crawl with the old gears and the new gears.

Just my opinion but re-gearing for 35's (from the 4.10's) should be lower on the list of mods than others.

Default 4.10s & Auto

I have 35s, 4.10s and an auto and I don't plan on re-gearing. I have to tun off the overdrive when I go up steep hills, but its fine in my opinion.

I have 35" and am currently running stock 3.73 gears. Road trips are a little rough (hills, head wind), but with the reprogrammer it ain't bad at all in town. I have a 09 unlimited. I do plan on in the near future regearing to 5.13

It's funny, I asked the same question about three weeks ago before I did the built. I have 3.73 gears and a manual tranny, I'm now running 35 inch tires and have not re-geared. Don't give it a second thought. The jeep does fine-- essentially it becomes a five speed (which I actually prefer... First gear is now "taller"). No experience with auto tranny, but for a manual-- no worries.

I have a 6spd with 4.10s and have only had my 35s for a day now. On the highway, I am not sure I want to re-gear. At 65 on the speed-o (probably 70mph), I am running 2200 rpm. This is great on flat highway and around town.

I am concerned I will want a lower first gear when crawling in the rocks. I'll update in a few days after I have wheeled it a few times.
