Default Anyone painted an ARB diff cover?

So I ordered and paid for a Solid front diff cover. I went with Solid for the price and because it was black. Got home yesterday the the Parts Fairy (otherwise known as the UPS Man) had left an ARB diff cover on the porch. Bonus, right? Only problem is it's red. I'm not much for the rainbow of bright colors on my undercarriage. Just wondering if anyone had tried to paint one of these and what kind of luck they had.

Unless you want to return it for a black one, I would just scuff it up with some sandpaper and spray it with some flat black spraypaint and be done with it. Then, when it gets scratched off-road, it will look like it is bleeding.

I painted mine flat black but taped over the badge, then tore the tape off when the paint dried; looks cool. Flat black body with the red and bare metal badge.
