Wow thank you, I am an idiot as soon as you said that it slapped me in the face.

So I am getting those gears then a carrier like this one

We were in 4 wheel low on a trail and he was doing 15 mph in 4th gear at 3700 RPMs. Throw those stupid gear charts out the window. They are wrong.
Have you considered running then 37s with 4.56 gears? Just chop the fenders and you will have a killer ride. In my opinion JKUs look better on 37s and that way your rpm issue would be less of a concern... Just my opinion.

I have to disagree with CBrNoMore and the comment of 4.10's being a dog with 35's. I was actually quite surprised with the subtle difference I had when I jumped from my factory 4.10 Sahara with 18's/255's to 17's/35's. It still pulls quite nicely, and is in no way a dog. Especially when you consider the people out there running 35's on their 3.21's. Drive one of those, and it will definitely change your tune!! That being said, I live in Texas where it is mostly flat. You live in Ontario where I'm sure you have quite a hilly drive. Even so...I still wouldn't call it a dog. Not trying to press your buttons or anything, just trying to take in the fact that some people would agree that's it's not worth it to regear to 4.56 just to pull 35's. I have no plan to regear, since it pulls the way it does and the way it handles on the trails and rocks. Both great in my opinion.

Old post I know but I just came across this thread again. No worries, you're not pushing buttons, but you can't be serious? I could swear that when the wind blew I actually slowed down. If that's not a dog, then I don't know what is.

What gear size were you running originally? I'm not saying that it is a beast, by any means!!! Was just trying to make a point that that it could be a lot worse! This coming from someone who ran 35's on 3.21 gearing with the 2.5, 4 cylinder in my '93 YJ. Then...you will know what it means to suck! 5th gear wasn't even an option, at any time. I can set my cruise with my 35's on 4.10's in 6th gear and keep on going. Sure...you lose a couple of mph on some decent hills, but at least it pulls itself up!

Hahaha, I come from the same boat. I had a 1995 YJ with 2.5 4 cyl. 15+ years ago. Used to drive through Appalachia and drop down 2-3 gears at a time. My point is that on my 2011 stock 6spd with 4:10s, I couldn't use 6 after the change to 35s. Today expect more from my Jeep than almost 20 years ago. Today I expect that I don't need to drop down from 6 to 5 when the wind blows. Hell I'm running 4:88s now and with the new steel bumpers front and back, tire carrier and winch, I figure there's another 300+ lbs. Time for 5:13s

So you couldn't use 6th gear at all after the change to 35's? I can't even imagine! I too am fully outfitted...AEV bumpers front and rear with tire carrier, and a Warn Zeon 10s out front.

I have a 2012 4.10's with 35's, its ok and going up a steep incline on the freeway its screaming . If you are going to stick with 35's go 4.56. I'm going to run 37's with 5.13's its only a 200rpm higher than running 4.88's and gives you a better crawl ratio

I have a 2012 JKU auto with 35s and 3.21s. It's definitely livable. I live in Colorado and spend a lot of time in the mountains and on dirt. The jeep will downshift and pull the hills fine and it still will run easy trails well.

That being said I will be regearing to 4.56s. The JKs have no problem revving. Hell the rubis come stock with 4.10s and 32s so 4.56 and 35s will still rev less than a stock JKUR on the highway.
