Default Anyone beside me considering..

cutting the back seat head rest off. I hate them, they stick up way to far and do not come off. I will end up taking a sawsall to them or something else. I have tried to fold them back but they are linked to the fold down on the seat. I can cut them off and not effect the fold down of the seat. If anyone has a suggestion it would help. My favoirte tools are a cutting torch, 220 trackhoe and hammer, just not good at inside work.

I saw the other day a guy on here who folded the seat down, then bungie tied them to the child restraint ancor points at the bottom of the back of the seat. Then when you fold the seat up, they stay down, and if you ever need the headrests, you just pull them up and they stay until the next time you fold down the seat. good luck

Mine did not latch when I did that. But will try again.

That is what I do. It works on the driver's side seat anyway. Once you fold the seat forward a little way, it unlocks. I just hold it all the way back and strap it down. Should work the same on the passenger side, but I have not done that one. I do it so the my son's car seat won't sit so far forward.

Default pull harder

pull as hard as you can ... they come out eventually ... I did once when I had to carry me surfboard inside the jeep ... ripped that bastard out on the passenger and mashed it back in when I was done...

Caution: The 2 door models are different, and you can easily just take out the entire back seat.... I think I've read that the 4 door headrests aren't meant to come out like this... and saw someone post a warning to other 4-dr owners not to repeat their mistake...

took my two door headrests out . The receptors of the headrest prongs (in the seat back) have push button releases on the side of the "donut" ,one is more prominant than the other.

Thanks bro...I swear I've tried that a few times before and it didn't work but I just tried again and they came right out...maybe I'll consider putting the seat back in now
