Anybody running a 50inch light bar and a soft top?

50" Rigid Single Row. top half of (rear) light is smooth, while the other half (bottom) has the heat sinks. Putting the smooth side up, keeps it from whistling. No issues with mine and it's been on for more than 2 years. Not stopped once, it's my daily driver and I'm in California.

I drive with a bikini top 365. The 50" is mostly just for looks so drive around with it & make small adjustments to the tilt until the whistle goes away. I never notice it when going 80 & no doors on. I may be slowly going deaf from other road noise but not the light bar.

Been thinking about getting one, but have searched and read the horror stories with the whistle (which looks like a easy fix by Rigid and their isolators) but, worried about the buffeting/flapping with the soft top. I have a premium soft top...
Just wondering if someone has this set-up and can talk about pros/cons
Thanks

Mine is a VisionX single row LED on a Poison Spyder mount. I did have to make adjustments to it to minimize the sound it makes. But now it is great.
You want to mount the light as low and as close to the glass as possible. This will minimize the buffeting of the top and the whistle. I also had to make some mods to the light mounts to get them to fit with the mirror relocation brackets. I also ground all the sharp edges and cleaned them up before powder coating. The extra effort was worth it.
Night 4 wheeling/camping in the GW National Forest in Harrisonburg is the bomb with lots of light.
The rule in VA is that you may have no more than 4 headlights. To get it inspected, you do not have to cover it, all you have to do is disconnect the power cable. No power means it is an Ornamental Light.
Here are some other pics.

I run a 50" light bar with a softop. One thing you will get is the ear shrieking whistling that will drive you mad. I was able to deal with this by zip tieing a cut in half florescent light tube from home depot to cover the fins. This works well and it does not overheat the heat sinks much. Another thing is that it will sound like it is constantly raining on your soft top due to the wind turbulence and every now and then you get a gust of wind that will hammer down on your soft top and freak you out.
Is it worth it? Probably not. I got mine because I like to do night trails and lead a group every now and then.

Just looked that light bar up (because your jeep looks bad ass BTW!)… Holy hell 1200.00 for a light bar??

Is that the one?? So what makes it 100X better than this??

Usually people get the flutter and whistle when they buy cheapo mounts that have the bars way out or up from the windshield. I have an HMF fab mount and depending on the angle I can't even use my windshield wipers, its that close. No vibes, no whistling. The angle that they don't work at is when its pointed too far down anyway.
