Any issues with 295s on the stock tire carrier?
I was looking at 285/70r17 and think I may go 295/70r17. Liking the MB72 or MB TKO rims.
Anyways...anyone have any issues with a 295 on the stock carrier? I heard the 285 fits fine. I probably am going to level her out as well at the same time, or do a 2 inch lift.

I have the 287/75R17's which is similar to those sizes. Do you plan on using the stock rims?
You shouldn't have a problem getting them on the stock carrier although its gonna be a tight fit. I definitely wouldn't recommend it long term, especially if you get a heavy tire, but it can be done.
If you use the stock rims remember you have the possibility of rubbing. Mine do at full turn but will be fine once my wheel spacers come in. Aftermarket rims of 4.5" back spacing or less and you won't have a problem with rubbing.

My dealer squeezed some 315/70R17 on the stock carrier, and I ran with that for about a week before installing my OR-FAB carrier. The 295 will fit, but I'm not sure if it has the potential to cause damage after time due to the extra weight. It will fit though.
Edit: Those 315/70R17 were on AEV Savegre wheels with 4.75" backspacing. Sorry, I didn't think about what wheels/backspacing you may be running. Not sure if 295's will fit or not.

I have a toyo mt 285/75/17 on my gate for about two years now .tire weight about 97 pounds but my gate hinges are starting to get a little loose. just make sure your rubber bump stops is up against the tire.I know this isn't the best way to do it but oh well.

I just had 295 70 r18 nitto trail grapplers installed today. I also got the MBRP tire relocation bracket and reinforcement kit. My pro comp rims have a 4.5 BS and will not fit the stick carrier.

I have GY 315/70/17 (34") on ProComp 7069 (4.75" BS) and bought and installed the MBRP re-enforcement and re-locate kit and it fits nicely. I added the Daystar extended bump stops. This is a temporary solution but for the $50 or so bucks for the kit you can't beat it for a little extra piece of mind. The kit bolts up pretty easy and the Duratrac is one of the lighter tires in this size at around 60lbs.
