Default any concerns with a 6ply Duratrac?

I will be getting new Duratracs in October. The choice is to stay either the 17" which is an 8 ply or go to a15" with new rims. The 15 is only a 6 ply, should I have any concerns? My offroading is usually limited to slickrock in Moab. My rim choices are down to the ATX Slot or the XD Enduro. I have heard and have seen pictures of the Slot but nothing on the Enduros. Any thoughts, insight, opinions?

If you plan on running rocks, definitely go with the 8 ply for structural integrity.

I just had new DuraTracs put on a set of AEV Pintlers 3 days ago (285/70/17). I have to say I am very impressed with the ride quality and look of the Duratracs. If there is a difference from the stock tires it is so slight that I can barely notice. I struggled for weeks trying to decide but I kept coming back to the fact that most everyone who runs Duratracs love them. The only gripe (small one) is the overall height. They were maybe 1/2" taller than my stock tires but that's just my thinking taller is better.

sorry I should have been more specific, I have the 285/70-17's DT's on right now and also love them. The question was more towards if anyone running the 33x12.50x15" has had any troubles with the fact that they are 6 ply vs the 285's which are 8 ply.

I should say that I will be getting about 60,000 miles out of my current set. I rotate about every 5000 to 7500 miles and run 32 psi.

I am on my 2nd set of DuraTracs....first set was 295/65R18 this set I changed it up and went 33x12.50R15

I have been off road 4 or 5 times now with the new set. I play in the rocks and have not had any issues whatsoever! You can really air these 15" down and not worry about popping a bead. Ride quality is much nicer also with the extra sidewall to soak up some of the bumps in the road.

I was also concerned about the "weak sidewall" people talk about. I just have not found it to be the case here. Maybe in another part of the country where the rocks are sharper they have issues with this? I purchased from Discount Tire and got the replacement certificates just in case.

35 duratracs. Not a single issue and im on my 2nd set. Went from 33 to 35. 35s float more but otherwise an excellent tire for all year round performance and unpredictable canadian winters. Dont confuse it with a mud tire, although my 35 do very well in mud.
