I installed the XD Hoss (17x9) / 4.53 Backspacing with Nitto Terra Grappler LT 305/70R17. I bought the Jeep used with 4k miles, and the tires were already installed on the stock 17 inch wheels. With the new wheels my tires stick out a good 3.5 inches from the flare. It gives it a meaner stance for sure. I'm getting ready to install Teraflex lower control arms to help with handling next.

A meaner stance is basically what im looking for, do the tires fit your wheels nicely? I'm thinking of going with BFG AT's if I can find a size that will fit the 17x8.5's well, I dont want to run 35's or anything like that. I originally wanted duratracs but the place I typically do business with cant get goodyear tires because a local tire chain has goodyear pretty well locked up around here.

Just forget wheeling on 35's without a lift but 285's will work just fine on and offroad.
I think im gonna take your advice and go with a 285/70/17 BFG AT. Looks like they will fit the wheels I want nicely, they're wider so i'll get that meaner stance i'm looking for and they're only half an inch bigger overall than the duelers I have now.

I'd double check if 0mm offset wheels will work w/o hitting the brake calipers. That would be my only concern.

Thats the only thing im still not sure about lol, when I put my model jk into the carfiguator thing it brought up these wheels so at first I kind of just assumed they would work.

I've had some people tell me that I will need to have wheel spacers to run a 285/70/17 on a 17X8.5 inch rim (backspace 4, offset 0) can anyone confirm this? Really not into the idea of wheel spacers, I know the higher priced ones are supposed to have excellent quality but theres something about them that makes me a little uneasy.
