Default Another alignment question

Ok so after i installed my TF 2.5 lift and 35's I noticed the front end wandering. I have asked a while back and was told that I need to set the toe-in at 1/16 to a 1/8 inch. The place where I got the wheels and tires said they can't do an alignment because they don't have the specs. this was back in Oct. Called the other day got the same B.S. I was told the last few years the specs are the same anyway. So not sure I want them doing it if they don't know that even after I told them. Seems I can't find a local shop to do an alignment. I am just going to attempt it myself. My duratracs don't have a center seam to measure from and was thinking of using 2x4's but not sure how accurate that would be. Also is there that much difference between a 1/16 and 1/8 inch that I should just start with a 1/16 to see if that helps the wandering?

I had trouble finding shops to align my 2011 Camaro after I put the Eibach suspension system on it. Seemed most shops didn't have the updated softward, even though the suspension hadn't changed since 2010. Maybe check around some more? 35" tires are too much $$$ to gamble on home-made alignments IMHO.

When I had my '69 Scout I used to set the alignment using jackstands and string, measuring the outside of the rims to the string. Search youtube for that method.

Just follow this how to. I know it may seem overwhelming and difficult until you do it the first time but its really simple. But if you don't feel comfortable and confident take it to the professionals. However not maybe the ones you've mentioned though so they sound a little umm dumb.

Sounds to me like you need a "caster" adjustment. Not "toe".

I didn't think it was caster because most say with that small of a lift it wouldn't be noticeable. I guess I can check the toe and see if it is already toe-in 1/16 of an inch according to the write up crusher posted up. If it is then I guess control arms are the only fix?

I have the same setup (TF 2.5 with 35" Duratracs) and I ended up adding the front lower control arms to help with the caster which tightened up the front end. I adjusted everything by following the how to in the link but ended up taking it in to an offroad shop for the final adjustments and they were able to make a few small adjustments which helped even further.

Thanks! I suppose I need to get started. Was your caster way off before the lower control arms? Also, what is a good brand to get?

Damn! I just looked on Teraflex's site. They have 2 pages of lower control arms! Which ones are the right ones?

I'm also in the market for lower front control arms and rear uppers. I have a 2.5 inch lift now but ordered 4 in evo coils and am in the process of building a 4 inch lift.
Do you buy the same control arms for 2.5 inch lifts and 4 inch lifts???
