Default Annoying squeak coming from undercarriage - Help

All,

For a few months now I've been getting a loud squeaking from my undercarriage when hitting the smallest bumps in the road. I get more of a noise from small bumps and less from major dips or speed bumps. Is it the shocks? Something loose? I cannot pinpoint a side or tire. I'm running Rough Country 4" lift with front lower control arms. I'm hoping some WD-40 or grease can solve this.

Any thoughts? It's annoying and embarassing!

Thanks

First thing i would try is parking the jeep and shaking it back and forth as much as you can, if you dont hear any sound do the same on the front and rear bumper to try an isolate the sound. Then once u hear it have someone shake the jeep while you look from where its comming from

Mine did the same thing for the first year. I just put some silicone lube to anything and everything that moves lol. That solved the problem for me. Haven't heard it in a long time. I think mine had something to do with the rear control arms... Not 100% tho. Happy hunting!

Do you have aftremarket front swaybar disconnects? If one loosens up a little it can create an annoying noise on smaller bumps & low speed turns, braking, acceleration. The load is being shifted left/right or horizontal vs up & down- thus not as likely to happen on bigger bumps. Just an idea....

Did you isolate it? I'm having the same problem except my suspension is stock. I can only hear it from the cab if the window is down, but when open it's obnoxious.

I've jumped up and down on the bumpers trying to replicate the noise, no luck. Gives me a little pause in thinking it's a suspension issue. I'm considering taking my hard top off just to see if that's the issue (some have reported it is). Any help would be appreciated too.

I too am having this issue.

My suspension is stock except for the Terraflex leveling kit (1.5") and I have JKS quicker disconnects.

I greased the disconnects again as they needed it, but the noise persists. It's so bad that my passengers were really annoyed with it and kept asking me what it was (as if "IDK" the first time didn't stop them, lol). One thing I didn't think to check was if the disconnects needed tightened.

I took video of it to demonstrate the sound (Jeep's hard top off), but don't see where I can upload video.

Just a thought.....Check to make sure that the heat plate over the exhaust it tight. I lost a bolt in mine and it rattled like crazy! Don't forget that sounds don't always come from where you think you hear them! Like left side not right and not middle but rear!

After a lot of frustration and a huge headache I finally figured my issue out.

With a good tug, there was some play in my right rear shock, so I torqued down the lower shock mount bolt and viola! No more noise!
