Default Annoyed with cheap plastic center caps...

Anyone else annoyed with those cheap plastic center caps that come with expensive aftermarket rims? I have the chome Moto Metal rims and the chrome on the center caps is all bubbling up and flaking off. So should I just take them off and leave 'em that way? The flaking chome just drives me nuts. I'll probably buy some nice black powdercoated rims next year, maybe some Procomp 8069's or something like that. Will just have to put up with these rims for now. I want to get my bumpers first.

Can you paint the center caps... Black matches chrome... Some of the rock stars look better with out the center caps... Worth a shot. You could call them and they might send you new ones..

I had a set of the black 951's on my Ford F-250 and those center caps did the same thing to me as well. That was back in 2005 so it seems like they haven't fixed anything since then. My wheels also started having blemishes show up in the finish and I had to have them replaced under warranty as well. Needless to say, those were my last set of Moto Metal's and I have owned XD's ever since, best quality wheel I've owned.

Your center caps are a lot different than those that come with stock wheels. However, you should be able to repaint them just as easy. I repaint the stock center caps with great results. If you take a trip to the local auto store, take a look at "Black Chrome" wheel paint. It would likely look pretty nice with the chrome wheels.
