Default Aluminum Diff Cover??

I'm getting ready to change the oil in my diffs and figured I'd maybe install new covers. I was liking this cover a lot and realized its made out of aluminum. Has anybody else used these? Any thoughts on them? Almost all of the other diff covers are made of iron.
Bad idea?

Good question... I dunno, I figure it would be lighter of course, but obviously not as strong. Never heard of one made outta aluminum tho...

What's the cost? Maybe it's not a bad idea, it looks good.

I definitely like the way that one looks. Not sure if there is a difference in durability between them...

I guess it depends on the aluminum alloy. The rims can take a good beat before breaking, for example.

I have G/2 diff covers which are made out of aluminum. While they might not be as strong as ductile iron covers like ARB, they are still plenty strong for trail riding and much better then the factory stamp steel covers. The aluminum should also dissipate heat better then the iron covers. Now, if you're into heavy rock crawling, I would go with an iron cover.

But with which brand cover you choose, go with some Lube Locker gaskets [rubber coated metal] instead of the rtv seal. Lube Lockers already has sealant applied and the gaskets are reusable.

I'm going to order the lube lockers when I finally decide on which covers to get....
I was hoping someone on here was running these. Nice to hear you've had no problems with yours.
Thanks
