YES!!! What I did was wrap a cloth around it and pulled it straight out with pliers. I might have wiggled it back and forth just a smidge. Took quite a bit of effort. But with the intake tube between my knees, it gave me more leverage.

OH!! BTW, the rest of the install was a breeze!! Don't let the sensor holder for the Airaid intimidate you either. It's actually easier than it looks. Just bend the lips into place then twist and push. When you put it up to the intake tube it looks way to big to fit. It's not.

No, not yet. I just wrote them last night so I don't expect to hear anything for at least a couple days. I'll post the reply when I receive it.

I don't think they will care that much, and they certainly won't be writing ways to fix the pieces that will commonly break on installation, simply due to legal issues.
I cut my old pipe too, but only after I couldn't get it out the easier way. I even tried to lubricate it.

Wow, you might just be my personal hero for the rest of the week Hopefully I will be able to do it this weekend. I'm still torn on installing it because everything I'm seeing says that putting in a CAI only benefits you if you upgrade the exhaust, and I had a buddy who put in a new CAI/exhaust in his 07 yukon only to have to replace his fuel injectors because it messed up the back pressure (I know, its his fault for not owning a JK). Since I'm not a mechanic I'm afraid I'll be starting down the road to $$$/headaches.

I got the reply today. Here it is.

XXXXX,

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the installation of your AIRAID intake system.
I am forwarding your e-mail to our Engineering Dept so that they are aware of this situation so we can update our installation instrutions. (Leaving out a more private portion of the message here(only a sentence long)). Thanks for the feedback

I really wouldn't call it a problem. These things make sounds that stock equipment just doesn't. I can here it when I accelerate at 1700-2500rpm. It's not all THAT loud in my opinion. MUCH MUCH more quiet than the sounds it can make at full throttle, that's for sure. And it sounds more so like a dog whistle. It's higher pitched. Of course you hear it more when have your top off... Which for me is often. I can see how it could possibly annoy. It surely doesn't annoy me in the slightest. I love my new intake and would definitely recommend Airaid. Especially having received such GREAT feedback from their customer service! I've been writing back and forth a few times, in fact they wrote today explaining that an update has been added to their products instructions. I just wish they built the Jeep instead of DC.
