Question AIRAID Cold Air intake

Does anyone have this Air Intake or similar? I know it will increase preformance, but does anyone know what if any Gas MPG this increases? Or hopefully doesn't decrease?

Marginal efficiency and power gains. Drop in performance air filter gets you most of the way there at a fraction of the cost, and the stock air box better suited to any water crossings. Probably over 50,000 miles to pay for itself and more like 15,000 miles to pay for a drop in. Add a muffler relocation kit to get the most out of an intake upgrade kit, and for the biggest cost/value kick get a programmer which in turn will also get the most out of an exhaust and intake upgrade.

I have a Volant. Gave some pickup in the throttle response, and as all CAI's, a nice deep tone when you step on it, but so far, zero mpg increase (and the sound is now sufficiently drowned out by my exhaust. In all honesty, I'll most likely go back to the stock at some point, since the CAI leaves the intake VERY open... or I might customize it myself... not sure.

To sum it up, worth the money, not really...

AirRaid adds some nice throttle response, but I think the best overall power Intake is the AEM. I noticed a big difference with my AEM intake.

I run AEM CAI, MBRP, on 3.21 with 33s and get about 18mpg on a good day. Averaging about 17.2 daily driving.

I think its best to get an intake if you have a exhaust and/or a tuner. If not, then a drop in will do just fine.

Metal tubed CAIs will transfer more engine bay heat into the intake than poly based products. There is also a sound difference between the metal tubed CAIs and poly based tubes, with the metal tubes being louder.

Just buy a drop in and don't look back. Put the savings into a tuner or an exhaust and you'll be much further ahead of the game.

Thanks for the info guys, I may just use the money towards a Dyno exhaust. Sound and performance are great extras but with todays prices I need MPG increases mostly.

I have an Airaid (purchased from Quadratec) and I do like it. It has a nice sound and the fit and finish is awesome. If you add an Airaid and a sprint booster it is a combo that is well worth it. Between the both I increased 2 MPH.

Really?? I've never heard of a sprint booster? What is that.

It is an eletrical adapter that plugs (plug and play) into the top of your accelerator pedal assembly and has a wire with a switch that plugs into the new adapter (sprint booster). The switch has 3 positions stock, stage 1 and stage 2. It sends an electronic signal that greatly reduces or possibly eliminates throttle delay. Trust me it will feel like there is a different motor in your JK. If I was to get a different JK and was able to make 1 performance modification it would be a sprint booster......check it out.
