Aftermarket wheels question

Aftermarket wheels question
I am new here, and to the Jeep life.
I am more active in the diesel truck scene, and just bought a 2015 JKU for an everyday driver.
I am planning on a 2 1/2 inch lift and 17 X 9 wheels for next Spring. My question is, does everyone with newer Jeeps put TPMS back into their aftermarket wheels?
Will it hurt to NOT put them in? My 3500 series truck does not use them, so I have no experience with how the system works if the sensors are not there.
I can deal with an idiot light being on the dash, but will it make a warning chime all the time?
Thanks for the help.

Welcome!
You have a few options...
Swap the sensors into the new wheels.
Run without them and deal with the idiot light.
Run without them and turn the idiot light off with a programmer.
(no chime if you choose to run without them)

It's all personal preference. I don't run mine, but I like he stated above you can always swap them out. Only down side to not running them is the light will come on mine usually after about 30 min on the highway. It usually doesn't come on during city type driving, so it's just personal preference.

Personally, I love the feature. I'm running 40" tires on beadlocks and one ton axles and still use them. When you run larger tires, it's much more difficult to know if a tire is losing air. If you wheel, it is that much more valuable.
It's a minimal cost to have them swapped. Less than the cost of a programmer to fix the light.

Guess I'm confused by some things being said in this thread. Larger tires are generally run at lower psi. Lower psi means the light stays on unless you drop the threshold. Without a programmer, you can't lower the threshold, so the light stays on.
If I understand it right, superchips no longer offers the option to lower the threshold, only to disable the system. Which of the programmers/tuners have cracked the 2015's? Can the psi threshold be lowered? If not, what is the point of running the sensors with larger tires? (unless you want to run your tires at way too high a psi just to keep the light off...)

When I switched to Pro Comps and Duratracs I had the TPMS sensors swamped but the light and chime would always go on since I was running at 31PSI. I already had the Superchips tuner so I had to download the off-road TPMS package to disable it. There was a feature in there, if I recall right, that allowed you to re-adjust the PSI level but I didn't use it.
