Aftermarket Bumpers and Skid Plates
Hi All - A true newbie here in NC - Just purchased a 2007 JK - has electric sway bar disconnect (rocker switch on dash) - I'm looking to get an aftermarket bumper but also wanted a front skid plate to protect the front sway bar disconnect motor. Skid Rows website states that their skid plate does not protect the motor. I've looked at the Shrockworks bumper and it has a skid plate that comes with it that they say does protect the motor. I like it though it's not a full size like the High Rock or the Warn (which I've also looked at). - Any suggestions, Ideas, comments?
Also - If I understand that if I install a set of lights in/on the new bumper (my JK did not come with fog/driving lights) - I'll have to splice into the vehicles wiring harness - how hard is that and - for the really dumb question - I assume I then have to put a separate switch inside the vehicle or is there a way to tie it to the existing light stalk?
any way - glad to be part fo the forum - tia for any/all help/suggestions, etc

Bumper and skid plate
The aftermarket is full of possibilities for your needs.
For example on my 2dr Rubicon I have fitted a Bestop Highrock bumper and grill protector with a couple of PIAA 550's on the grill protector tube(already fitted with mounting holes).I also have a Warn 9.5 ti fitted.I fitted the Mopar skid plate and it gives ample protection to the swaybar disconnect.
The lights(expensive) come as a complete kit with wiring loom, fuses, relays switches etc and are easy to connect, even if the instructions are in Japanese!
Happy modifying!!
