Default affordable gears

does any one know of a good set of 4.88 gears for my unlimited jk that wont cost me an arm and a leg? (front and rear)

The price for gears isnt the problem. It's the labor that gets ya. I have G2 4:88's in mine

Start checking the for sale section, the staging area for where you live, and you local craigslist. You might get lucky and find a cheap set of used gears from someone that upgraded.

New, expect $500+ for both sets of gears and overhaul kits.

550 shipped for front and rear gears with overhual kits - they dont get any cheaper . That is a crazy price!

I got some G2 4.88's for 650 bucks from 4WD. They came with everything you need including front and rear diff covers. I just had them put on last week at 4 Wheel Parts Place for about 700 dollars tax included. 4WD and 4 Wheel Parts are partners. I am still in my 500 mile break in period. The covers look sweet though.

what kind of gears should I be looking at for my 08 JKU Sahara? I'm going to be lifting it 4" and doing 37's?

The G2 gears I got also came with a life time warranty.

There are lots of threads on here about that. I was told if I go with 37's I would need the 5.13 gears.

for the 37's 5.13 or 5.38 for more power. look at the reference chart on the faq's or just google the chart
