Default AFE Stainless Steel Exhaust

Here are some video links of the sound of the new AFE stainless steel cat-back exhaust system for the JK. I also added an AFE Stage 2 CAI that I will post pics of later. I can definitely tell the power difference. It does have a little bit of a ricey sound at times but a deeper tone. Overall I am pleased though. Haven't had a chance to see if I am getting any gas mileage increase but I am keeping track for a couple tankfuls to see what happens.

Exterior sound (parked):

Slow start followed by highway merge:

Standing 0-60 (not a speed demon, but not bad for a JK Unlimited Auto w/ 33" tires and 3.73 gears):

Sounds great , thanks for all the work. I am interested in this exhaust, but they only have it for the 4-door. Do you know if they have it for the 2-door?. Is there any problem with reverb around 3000 RPM's ?. What did you pay and where did you get it?, how is install?. Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Here are a couple links for the exhaust and intake that I have. They have dyno charts that show the HP & torque increases. I paid considerably less than the MSRP because I got it at the 4 Wheel Parts Truck Fest show in Dallas, TX a couple weeks ago. I got both the exhaust and sealed intake kit for about $600. Both together should give 20 HP increase.

I don't see where the they offer the exhaust for the 2dr, but I bet all you would have to do is cut some length out of the main tube to make it short enough. The rest should be the same. I'm pretty sure the length difference between the 2dr and 4dr JKs is the center portion of the frame. Front and rear should be the same, even axle placement. Also, I'm not sure about the reverb. I haven't noticed anything annoying and I don't spend much time in the 3k rpm range anyhow unless I'm passing or merging on the highway. At 70mph I'm only doin 2k rpm.

As for the intake I got the Dry Flow Filter so I don't have to worry about oiling it. They say that just by tapping it on your bumper to shake the dirt out will get you to 85% efficiency and a shop vac on will get 95% efficiency and of course washing with soap and water will get 100%.

Hope all this helps. If all else fails, just give them a call. The AFE guy that was at the show was really nice and helpful.

The sealed unit looks much better protected against water ingestion than an open filter. Looks like there's an opening at the bottom and side. Probably not as tight as the stock unit, but still better than wide open. A prefilter would help more.
