im looking at the afe magnum force stage two cold air gas intake.....anyone have experience with this?? ITs only two hundred is this the same one you were looking at?

They claim it can increase hp by 50 and increases airflow 75%....I have hard time believing this, but give me your opinions please!

Are you sure it doesnt say "up to 50*" *depending on application ?

I know some CAI's on diesel trucks can increase it by 50 horses, but I dont think you even see 10-15 more hp on any gas vehicle.

(8/12/07) Literally just put it on about 3 hours ago. Not like my mechanics were not working hard all day as it was (103 degrees at Barbers Motorsports Park). A friend drove my AFE CAI over and was installed. Instant throttle response noticeable.

I have now put 500 miles on my 5.13 gears and the hills on I 20 West into Al. made it downshift a little, but 2500rpm at 73 mph on a 4spd auto is not to bad! Holds OD all day long on level and very mild inclines.

I think thats advertising spin. I think the 50 hp gain is in an early 2000's Ford 7.3 or 6.0 diesel... there was a year or two in there where ford had a very restrictive intake. I put an AFE on my 03 dodge ram diesel and it was advertised as adding about 35 hp and I think it did, very noticable diffence. The one I put on my Jeep probably did add around 5-7 hp, there was a slightly noticable increase. But IMO thats about all the increase you'll see from just a CAI on a V6 engine.

Yep, I would say maybe 5-7 hp. Just a bit better throttle response.

I had a similar question when I was first looking at CAI. I did purchase the AFE and the K&N 77Series CAI. I felt that the AFE was cheap and didn't like the way it was built. The K&N had an engine block support bar which I really did like. I did a full write on the two differences here https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modified-jk-tech-2/do-cai-really-make-your-mpg-go-up-11864/
