I was on the fence for a while; I like the bull bar on the AEV better, but the bolt on ARB, and it's lower price tag, pretty much tears it.

So now that you all have me thinking, where can I get an ARB bumper at a discount...BTW, my ARB catalog doesn't show the JK bumper with the extra turn signal lights...where do I buy?

Gabryael,

Keep in mind that the ARB is only a bolt-on if you don't use the factory crush cans. Otherwise you need to cut them off of the factory bumper and re-use them on the ARB bumper.

Ah, thanks for the head's up. I figure with the money I'm saving from not going with the AEV bumper, I'll take it to a professional to do the installation.

I was going to install mine this afternoon but after opening the arb box and reading the instructions I decided to wait until next week. It looks like it's going to take the better part of a day to install.

I'll probably order today my new bumper, but I'm still undecided about which one is better. The main defect I found in the AEV bumper is that you can not see the cable of the winch! Am I right? I have not seen 1 picture of this bumper in which the cable of the winch is "visble".

Any comments about this?

PS.- My choices are: AEV, ARB and Expedition One Trial Series.

Guys I own spray liner equipment and I also own ARB bumpers.

DO NOT LINE X ARB BUMPERS

They have the best powder coating process in the business. I have 2 ARB's on XJ and MJ that are over ten years old. No rust except for scratches from collisions that were cleaned and touched up with regular bumper paint that matches the ARB powdercoat great. Those scratches would be worse in LINE-X material.

If you get a crack or get damage to the bumper the LINE X is going to mask the damage. It is going to be harder to keep clean because it is textured. Just look at the bugs that get squashed on the front of your fender flares. But hiding the cracks or damage is the biggest thing.

The number one reason not to get this done however is that if it peels or gets damaged you cant fix it. I dont care what they tell you a LINE-X they cant make their own product stick to it self. The local LINE-X shop calls me to fix customer liners that are screwed up. I dont have LINE-X brand, I have the only brand that fixed LINE-X brand.

Buy powdercoated products from anyone that you want to... ARB is far superior in this part of production.
