Default Aev tire carrier install on stock bumper

Just ordered the AEV TIRE CARRIER from Dave @Northridge4x4!! It will be here on Friday I'm going to install it with the CHMSL kit on a stock bumper. Any tips on install? I will be putting on my lift, wheels, and 35's too. I will post up as soon as its done.

I've been thinking about the AEV... I can't wait to see yours installed.

I installed mine all on my own.. It would have went a bit faster with an extra hand, but still pretty easy. I used a dremel and a hole bit, which helped a ton. Just make sure you get your adjustment right, when leaning it in to the vehicle it will make for smooth operation. Other than that..enjoy..

What does this kit run? I always thought you had to buy the whole bumper/tire carrier assembly, this is great news!

$859. I'd say just save up for the whole bumper.

AEV JK Rear Tire Carrier (10305020AA)

Or try out Hanson's

Thanks, but why save up for the whole kit? I. This not a solid set up when ran with stock rear bumper?

the tire carrier is unchanged regardless of the bumper used...it mounts the same way..to the frame....the aev bumper comes with a hole already to accept the passing of the spindle to the frame. it will not be any different...but the aev bumper is nice if you are looking for a new bumper as well. you can buy the bumper seperate later on as well if you want it

Can the AEV tire carrier be installed on more or less any after market bumper also? givien that the bumper offers enough room to mount it to?

For once I'd say, don't buy from N4x4. I got mine local for $699 plus tax. much cheaper. (for the record I called N4x4 first, just shipping is expensive)

Not always, it depends if the AEV mount gets in the way of the bumper mount. Also you'll have to drill through the bumper for the spindle..
