clamp both sides, you dont want to get stuck in water over valve cover with that hose off, not that you want to get stuck in it with it on either
Cut and sanded mine with a dremel and the little cutoff wheels....took all of 10 minutes and is very easy to control a little dremel.

Used a dremel and cutoff wheels here too. It was pretty easy, and it went a little slower allowing for better control. All in all, a very easy upgrade. Make sure to seal everything with gasket seal!! Even the holes at the bottom of the air box!
