ProCal or the type is nice too.
Which will have better on road manners, the sport or the trail? Or about the same?

I guess my question is, so everything that is listed below in the AEV kit, that doesn't come on the Rancho Sport kit for example, are items I don't really need?

i know the jack stand and procal, but what about the other items such as the steering stabilizer, steering drag link, etc?

4" RANCHO SPORT KIT

RS7000 Shocks
Front and Rear Coil Springs
Bump Stop Spacers
Adjustable Front Track Bar
Rear Axle Track Bar Bracket
Sway Bar End Links
Front Brake Lines
Suspension Arm Bracket
Rear Sway Bar Brackets

4.5" AEV RS KIT

Bilstein 5160 Remote Reservoir Shocks
Front and Rear Coil Springs
Front and Rear Bump Stops/Spacers
Front Axle Side Track Bar Bracket with Steering Stabilizer Mount
Rear Axle Side Track Bar Bracket
Sway Bar Links
Front and Rear Brake Line Brackets
Heavy Duty Steering Stabilizer
Custom Rear Track Bar
Front Control Arm Geometry Drop Brackets
High Steer Drag Link
Brakeline Drop Brackets
Custom Rear Rrack-arm
Roll-Center-Adjusted Rear Track-Arm Tower
AEV Jack Base
AEV ProCAL Module
as you've said, you are out to save $1000.
add in what you think you need you need to the rancho kit and even throw in the procal and jack base and then do the math.

for what little you really get, the AEV kit IS way over priced. but, you keep telling yourself that and i'm sure it will help you to sleep better at night.

I couldn't imagine forking out that much money to get AEV then still having to spend more to get it the way I like it! Way too much $$$$

The TRAIL will have a bit better on road manners (not that the SPORT is bad at all, many say rides better than stock), because of the added adjustable track bar and control arms. A lot of people buy a introductory system, then start adding on a track bar and control arms, but for the price of the TRAIL, it is hard to beat...

The price looks about right for the AEV when you add up springs, shocks, rear trackbar, brackets, and hardware. A very similar 2.5" setup from TF is $130 less but but it would be more than AEV if it included a rear track bar. Is TF overpriced also? I'm not one to loose any sleep over a few bux regardless.

how typical. when comparing your beloved aev kit to a very similar, better built and WAY MORE AFFORDABLE rancho kit, the best a fanboy like you can do is to try and change the subject and compare it to a totally different kit made by a different manufacturer.

oh, i got that from the minute you chimed in on this thread
