AEV Rear bumper holes?

Have two holes in the center of the rear bumper. Who knows or has any idea what they were there for?

Place to attach safety chains if tow ball fails.

The large hole on left had a potable water tank it connected within the bumper chamber. The large one on the right held thevswing away mount for the spare. The spare was not attached to the door and could swing away independently of which the door being opened.
