I hate to provide a "bump to the top" for this thread, but I have yet another cracked Pintler. I have had to replace the pintlers at least 10 times. Customer service has been fine. They've replace several sets of wheels, in fact. But damn, it's a hassle to have to do this again and again. And I have to take a day off work and also pay for mounting each time. Hoping they will swap me out to a different wheel as I was told by my shop that AEV no longer sells the argent pintlers. Love the way they look. Hate the way they crack.

I was told recently AEV has stopped production of the Pintler wheels. Noticed an entirely new design is showing up on the newest AEV JKs at my local dealer.

I sold my pintlers after the first rim cracked. It does no good to destroy a set of wheels every summer on trails. I'm running steel now and couldn't be happier.

This sucks! I like the way the Pintlers look on the JK. I was considering these until I read this thread. Back to the drawing board.

The other AEV wheels are fine. It's just the design of the pintler. They have much less material where it counts most...causing wheels that are weak and prone to cracking. They are a stupid design for a wheel. I have yet to see a savegre or salta fail.

Have a look at mammoth wheels if you like the way the pintler looks. Similar design visually with the proper material where it counts. plus, they are much more inexpensive. I am running a set on my patriot soon.
