Default AEV Heat Reduction Hood

Does anyone have one of these? In stone white by chance to gauge what it looks like? I am interested in buying one, whats the best price you guys have found? I only see them on Quadratec and the AEV website (unpainted).

Lastsly, is it more of a cosmetic thing then an actual function? I dont notice my engine ever really running too hot.

I can't help you pictures of a white one, but I have one and love it. It looks great, and you can actually see the heat escaping from it when stopped, or feel it if you get out and put your hand over the vents. I agree it's mostly a cosmetic mod for a stock engine Jeep, but one of my favorite ones. It's the mod that has gotten the most attention and changed the look of the Jeep most.

As for pricing, check with AEV and see if you have a close dealer. My dealer I bought the Jeep from happens to be an AEV dealer, so I got a deal on the hood and painting it since they have a shop who has done several for them. Very happy with the paintwork on it.

For a lot less you might want to check on the Poison Spyder head reduction modification to the hood....same function, less money.

very functional....you can see the heat mirage when wheeling at slow speeds. I paid $1350/installed from my local Jeep/AEV dealer...they had a local bodyshop do the work for them. Quite a good deal as the shipped versions risk being blemished or damaged.

Not white, but definitely very functional and amazing. Especially when you see the heat go through the vents, it's definitely working and looks awesome
