I like what you did to the hood by adding the winshield tie down and windshield bumps. My question is though are they still functional? Did you reinforce the the tie down? Last thing I'd want to see is having a strap tied down and it ruining the hood... ouch!

That appears to be the officaial version by looking on the aev site ht tp://www.aev-conversions.com/vehicles/call-of-duty-mw3

The hood is not an option that you can choose to put on. At least it wasn't last year.
Damn it I would of paid the extra coin. How do these hoods do in cold weathers since im from Chicago? Would this hood benefit me. Im getting a 13' in the winter should I switch out hoods?

I saw a jeep on here that had the black from the outside of the hinges down to the mesh, covering the hump. The rest was factory paint match. I will paint mine this way when I order it.

Where did you order it? On Qtech it looks like they have the Mopar paint codes so they *should* match, right?

The underside of the hood is almost the same as the factory hood. I measured ten times, then remeasured and did in fact drill holes for the footman loop and the bump stops for the windshield. The bump stops will not be functional as the scoop/bump in the hood is higher than where I put them. I put them in the exact position as they came from the factory and in this position they are low. However, if you were to move them they could become functional. I doubt I am ever going to lower the windshield. I did it once on my '07 and it was too much of a PITA to do it again. As for the footman loop, the hood from the factory isn't too reinforced in that area. The footman loop is/was mainly only to be used to keep the windshield in place in the lowered position. Once again, I won't lower my windshield so this was purely cosmetic for me. I didn't like how the AEV looked without them so to be different I added the factory stuff. The hood itself is constructed quite well and is all metal. I thought it was going to be fiberglass.

I assumed it would match but it doesn't. It has a yellowish hue to it and once I put the hood on it really stood out. I didn't notice while it was off the Jeep. I contacted Quadratec and was told to ship it back, but then I'd have to wait another month to get another hood. (I had already been waiting a month to get this one). I mentioned taking it to a local bodyshop to have them repair it and was told to send more photo's in. After sending photos, was told that they couldn't see any difference and that they would send me some touch up paint for the damage it incurred before it got to me (1.5 in area on the edge that was wet sanded through the paint and the primer down to bare metal, or buffed). I explained to a supervisor that I didn't pay over $400 for factory paint and $200 in shipping to get a defective damaged item and to be told I would get touch up paint to fix the mess. What it looks like is whatever kind of primer they may have used bled through and the color is off. I am taking it to a local body shop in a few minutes to have them look at it. At the same time, I am picking up some Xenon Flat Flairs they just painted to match so I can compare. I am supposed to send in an estimate to Quadratec to let them make the call on whether or not they will foot the bill to repair. It's just very frustrating to pay as much as I did and be told what I was told. Hopefully in the end the do what is right, if not I will be driving to Quadratec to show the supervisor in person 'the color difference'. I live in PA, so I don't mind a few hour road trip to prove a point. Wish me luck, off to pick up flares.

Good luck Hawes!

Yeah you are right, I was assuming that it was fiber glass, but I checked quadratec after you made your post and it is steel. That is comforting cause I do use that loop as a tie down sometimes when moving stuff.

Well after two days Quadratec has decided to reimburse me to get the hood repaired, but I have to pay out of pocket (another $500) and send them the receipt. I'm trying to get them to work with the repair facility directly alleviating their suspicions that I may try to pocket the cash and keep the screwed up color, lol. My advice to anyone looking to get this hood is to get it unfinished and take it to a local body shop and save yourself all the trouble I have had to go through. It wasn't Quadratec's fault and I thanked them for making it right.
