AEV front control arm drop brackets
#11
These are to designed to work with the front lower control arms on a JK lifted 3"-4" correct? I just bolt these in place and good to go? I will be replacing my coils in the spring and would love to do this at the same time. These are designed to rotate the axle back to square (factory design) so that the suspension functions as it was designed right? Will this require a longer (or adjustable) track bar also? The track bar (as I understand it) will center the axle side to side correct? I am trying to understand this before just buying parts. These are a less expensive option rather than replacing the control arms themselves.

Dunny is correct- it simply lifts the back end of the coil so it's shaped less like a "C" and more linear.

Comparing the brackets to adjustable control arms is sometimes silly.
Adj cont. arms serve a real purpose but so do the correction brackets.
The haters of the brackets never take the time to figure that not everyone is a rock crawler so the ground clearance issue is of zero concern.
Adj cont arms do nothing to correct the geometry of the arms themselves.
These brackets and ones similar do EXACTLY what they are intended to do. They correct your CA geometry and drastically improve your ride at the expense of "some" ground clearance.
I have had adjustables on my previous JK and went with brackets on this one.
This JK sees 99% pavement, sand, and snow. The brackets were the right choice in my application.
As a side bonus they would make wayalife and his minions shake there heads in disbelief and disgust at anybody that used them.

Actually, I remember reading a thread way back. Eddie was recommending the Rancho lift over AEV. This was before the Rancho brackets were made available outside a kit.
I contacted Rancho after reading this. That's when I found out the new bracket was in the works.
The wedges are to correct coil bow from pinion correction.

So I have decided I am going to get a set of these. Question is which set? The AEV have multiple holes for different setups (which don't appear to be any real difference in ride quality), RC are the cheapest and include new hardware, but Rancho's look to be 1 solid piece and way more solid. Are the Ranchos worth the $50 more a set? Im thinking because the look to be better built maybe but anyone else have experience?

Fwiw ... I ran the AEV's and only swapped to review for Rancho.
