I went with the hanson, the quality is very good and American made.

What do you guys think? I think the look of both are fairly equal but the price of the Rugged Ridge is really enticing.
That is a silly comparison; in no way, shape, or fashion, beyond hanging on the front of your Jeep, are they "fairly equal". One is a high quality domestic product and one an imported price point piece (I restrained myself and didn't call it junk). My opinion on Chinese metalurgy is that it sucks and is inconsistent.

If you don't want to drop the dollars on the AEV there are a bunch of other quality domestic bumpers that are 700-900. The ARB is around 900 and is a quality piece.

I went with a Treks, great price, made in the USA and I can finish it however I want (comes bare steel).

I juggled the AEV, ARB and Rugged Ridge. Price was kind of a factor in the decision process but would not have stopped me from getting what I really wanted. I decided on the Rugged Ridge. I like the idea of being modular. I like the full length look and safety aspect of everyday city driving and the ability to remove end caps for outings. I also like the looks of the end caps better as they did not go all the way up to the front fenders like the other two do. I could not be happier with my choice. It looks great and seems pretty stout.

There were a few comments about its foreign made inferior steel on this thread. I am no metal expert but it seems pretty tough to me. There is a thread somewhere on this site about a close encounter with a 3/4 pick-up and the Rugged Ridge XHD and that guy was pretty happy about the end result. Also, the way I see it is that a bumper is to protect the rest of the vehicle from damage and if the bumper gets messed up in the process, oh well. For the price you could buy another one to replace it if damaged and still almost be less expensive than the AEV.

Just my two cents. I really like the Rugged Ridge. Seeing it in person also convinced 1JK's* to order one instead of the LOD he had his eye on.

Price was a large factor for me so I have the RR Front and rear, I have had no quality issues and they are not rusting or falling apart. So from what I have read I guess I am a lucky one.

Okay so as of now its a competition between the Rugged Ridge and the LoD Mid Width. I like the look of both and the cost. Some people think that the LoD has better quality. Guess its just up to me to make a decision
