AEV Bumper Shipped
#12
Mine came today also. Looks FIRST CLASS.
I was second on the order list, I ordered at the SEMA Show in October.
It took 5 and one half months. Now still waiting for Old Man Emu. It also will
be worth the wait for the best.

Once you get everything set up, can you answer the questions below when you get a chance...
1. Let us know how easy/hard it is to take the winch off/on. Reason I would like to know is my because my JK is my daily driver and I plan on getting the same Bumper + Winch and I don't want to carry the extra weight or risk the winch being stolen. I plan on just throwing it on when Off-Roading!
2. Do you require a front license plate in your state? If so where do you plan or' recommend mounting one on the AEV BMPR? I live in New York and it's a Most-Have!
Thanks and good luck with the install....

Installation
I took a look at the install instructions too since I ordered the bumper. Wasn't planning on all the cutting but oh well. Excuse to buy some more tools.
Kinda confused on the whole crush can thing and cutting it from the old bumper. You would think that you realy don't need them. I mean there are no sensors inside them or anything like that. My impression is that they are just there so if you get in an accident the airbad won't go off if its not a great impact. Well that would mean that you have to hit the cruch can in the exact spot and that may not happen. I could also be totally incorrect about their function.
Anyway. Just so I'm looking at this right. You have to cut the crush cans off and bolt them to the new bumper. So it appears the crush cans are welded to a piece of the "C" channel bumper. So you have to cut them off and then cut the two sides of the "C" channel off so you make a flat plate with the crush cans still attached. Is this right???? Then bolt them on the new bumper.

Thanks
Thanks for the response. I have used a cut off tool before but its been a while so I guess I will get my practice againD
By the way I like the cooltech exhaust you guys are making. I didn't see any cat converters in the pictures though. Did you guys remove them and run the exhaust without one?

AEV bumper
Nota4re time line was right on the money!!!
It took me all day to install the AEV bumper and the 9.5 ti warn winch.
Just like Roadtrip my AEV bumper was missing assortment of washers, nuts and bolts!!!!
THE AEV Bumper and The Warn Winch Looks even better in person I mean this Looks so F@@$$^*((* GRRReaTTT it is worth the time and the money !!!!
The Bumper installation instruction on the AEV web site is very helpful!!!!!(Print it out and Read it before the installation.)
FOG LIGHT MOUNTING
The installations is very time consuming!!! (1) installation of the fog lights and rerouting of the wires is pretty straight foward. Make sure when you install the fog lights into the AEV mount that the part number located on the back of the light is facing down so you can plug in the wires to the fog lights. If you don't you will have clearence problems and you will be remounting them.
CRASH CAN CUT OUTS
(2.) Cutting the crash cans out is a little tricky until my friend fired up the plasma cutter and cut the cans out like butter.
WINCH MOUNT CUT OUT
(3.)Installation of a winch 9,000 lbs or higher you have to notch out the frame on the inner passenger bumper frame mount. Not a big deal just Grind the frame about and inch so the winch will fit on the winch plate. Inaddition you have to drill out the far upper left and far upper right bumper and winch plate holes.
MOUNTING THE WINCH
(4.)When mounting the Winch make sure if it is a Warn 9.5 ti that the square nuts are mount on the winch before the winch is set in place are you will have to fight to install them. Inaddition make sure you run the winch cable through the fairlead first!!!!
Install the winch and tighten all the winch mounting bolts!!!
MOUNTING THE BUMPER
(5.) Mount the Bumper mounts suppllied by AEV before you install the bumper!!!
(6.)First install the crash cans and the bumperette then make sure that the screen is installed. Make sure that you have somebody there to help you mount the bumper (Try to cover up the fenders and the grill so you don.t scratch them. This bumper is metal and it is a tight fit be carefull). You and a friend move the bumper in place and install the button bolts make sure that you use the shortest button bolt and thin locking nut on the passenger side inner upper bumper mount. This will insure that the winch will not be affected. Next tighten up all the bumper mounts and your done
Not respondsibile for miss spelled word are Damage caused by your install it is late and I am worn out!!!! Pic of the bumper tomorrow
