I have the Smittybilt XRC bumper and that thing is solid! Awesome approach angles, doesn't stick out far from the hood, looks awesome, and can take a beating. It looks perfect without "overdoing" it. Brand new they're about 600 bucks when not on sale. I got mine used here on the forum for 400 bucks, and it was a little rusty so I sanded it down and repainted it with a textured black spray paint before I installed it. I've had it for a few years now and never look back. Look it up here on the forum; there is a lot of good reviews about this bumper.

You get what you pay for, I'd suggest the Ace mid width or their stubby.

i started out with the mid width, and I really liked it, but then I went to 37's and it would have been a tough fit, so now I have the stubby with the stinger. Acejeep.com

That is one of the nicest bumpers out there visually...

i definitely considered that one, its molded so it just looks like it came with the Jeep, plus the way the winch will fir right into the bumper is exceptionally clean and overall the bumper is just organic looking,,vs just steel.

the only downside I had with that bumper is the price was awfully high and if you ever went to flat fenders it would look kind of odd with the sweeping gull wings and then the gap before the flat fenders.

if that is the one your really in love with then save up and get that one, just make sure your not one of the lunatics who wants to stuff 37's into your wheel wells, be cause then its a whole new world of expensive!

I've had the Rugged Ridge Modular bumper for about 4 years now. Surprisingly, for the price, it is one solid bumper and has held up great even with it being bounced off rocks.

Originally I got the center part with winch mount and the full end caps. I took the end caps off once before I went wheeling and they never went back on so I have been running the stubby for quite some time. I believe you can get some more formal stubby ends for it now rather than the flat ends I have but I see no need. You can add a hoop bar (like I have), a stinger or just leave it plain. very customizeable, affordable and (as I already stated) very solid. it also keeps stock fog lights which is nice so no reloaction or disconnecting is needed.

I also paired mine with the front skid plate which protects the electronic sawy bar disconnect motor on my Rubi. It looks great and, like the bumper, is solid as hell.

if weight is the big factor why not go bumperless most light bumpers are only good till you hit something
but im not sure this picture helps my case

maybe the bumper don't mean sh#t if your hit @ the right angle
but chrome don't get you home so this proves that theory
