To the above post,
I want to have the security of knowing I can try something
without worrying too much about the what ifs. This isn't
something I'm willing to try to tackle now, but later-on
after I have 10-20K miles logged in.
What I'm trying to do is build a tough truck for the future.
If that means spending a little more now and sealing seams,
or getting something dipped in bed-liner, (I'll do it) knowing
I'll be protected and protecting the future of my rig.
Sorry if this sounds like a rant, I'm not trying to rant. I just
want the best stuff for a good price, and I'm thinking about
the long term... I'm the kind of guy who hangs onto his
vehicles.... It is only now, that I'm thinking of parting with
my 1993 YJ,(which is slowly melting into my driveway) my
oldest nephew has dibs on it and has taken most of it's
essence away to be joined to his TJ. But there is still a
strong engine,(which I built to extremes(it's still a 4cyl,
just better.))

I have the ACE sliders, they are super easy to put on, but only really looked good once I got a lift... just saying. The JCRs are more work and are more robust, but as to that I did my own finish on a JCR bumper (search for that thread JCR dagger mid width). Its not that hard if you like projects. If you don't, its alot of work.... Getting the bedliner or whatever to coat and stick involves some good prep work, but it was very satisfying to have done the job myself.

I have the ACE rails with the Rubicon rails... Add two larger washers between the rails and body, it will then give you 'bending' room and prevent body damage if you can end up bending the ACE and Rubicon rails... Like the post above... I guess it can happen in rare cases, I would think this fix would solve that issue... (At least I think it will if I go hard on the rails!)

I decided to go with the ACE rails and have been really pleased with them. I shot this video last fall and this is the reason I am really glad I got them.

Thanks for the video. It really shows the abuse these ACE
rails can handle.
I did purchase the ACE Rock Sliders for my '12 JKU, and I
just installed them... They look great as is and seeing as this
Jeep will not be a mall crawler, I've decide to forgo the
special finishes I wanted to do earlier in this thread.
It just seems more sensible to me to run, scrap, spray, & go...
then having to worry about them all the time.

Went on a jeep jamboree this past weekend. They worked awesome. Took rock abuse with nothing more than scratches. Oh yeah....took a tree on the driver side. Sliders saved the door, but I lost the mirror.
