6 in short arm or 4long arm lift?
Hey guys, iam looking at getting a lift kit for my 2 door jk. Iam looking at the RC6 short arm kit. How bad are my control arms going to be ****ed down. Is the ride really rough? Or is it fine ?
Iam also looking at RC long arm 4 lift. It looks perty nice . I know long arm is nice I had it on my XJ last year. Iam just in between . What you guys think.

Yes long arm is the way to. And no on the 40 tires . I am goin to stay with 35s maybe go to 37s. I know all about tall jeeps in the wind.
My question is how bad does a 6 short arm ride down the road. How rough is it. I've owned jeeps that drove like crap . To jeeps that are smooth and great on the road. I do a lot of wheelin here in NEw Mexico. Lots of sand and rock. But is a 6in lift going to just pound the shit out of my jeep on every bump or is that just all talk ?

Just went from 2 1/2" to 4 inches. Ran 35's on the 2 1/2". Getting ready for 37's. Almost wish I had stayed 2 1/2 for the 37's. I cant imagine a 2 door with 6" of lift.
Sent from my brain to your eyes because I'm just that good

I'm running 37s on a 2.5". 2.5" of lift on a JK is about perfect for 35s on a 2 door, even with stock fenders.
Above 3.5" you run into caster and pinion angle challenges. You'll need driveshafts, cut and rotate coil perches, etc.
Also note that most kits are sold indifferent to JK or JKU. So, a 4" lift might net 5" on a 2 door. If you get a 2.5" lift, you'll likely end up with 3"-3.5".

Six inch short arm lift will be shitty. You'll have to get a new front axle housing to have any caster plus have acceptable pinion angle for the aftermarket driveshafts that will be a must.
I'd stay completely away from RC stuff on a JK.

According to you and assuming you pick the popular choice in axles around here, the OP should spend $15,000+ in axles, prior to purchasing a ~$1000 lift kit because of alignment concerns?
My question to you is: When did caster and pinion angle become dependent on an axle housing?
OP.... be careful. You just got suggested a $15,000+ solution to a problem that would require a few hundred in parts and labor to solve.
