5 year check up and did I throw something away I shouldn't have?
Yes it is mandatory to keep the factory lifetime powertrain warranty. It is clearly stated on the warranty paperwork you received with your new vehicle. I can't imagine anyone being foolish enough to throw that paperwork away.

I took mine in a few months ago. It's pretty standard other than the 3"lift. They followed a checklist that I still have.
Are you the original owner?
Are there any powertrain leaks?
Is there any physical powertrain damage?
Are there any powertrain modifications?
Check powertrain fluid levels and conditions.
Check for trouble codes with a scan tool.
They said nothing about my lift and did not ask for any maintenance records.

I purchased a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty from chrysler and it has a $100 deductible. It has very good coverage with the exception of belts, hoses and brakes. It even covers ball joints and CV joints etc. I think the key to having good coverage is building a relationship with the service team and service manager. They want to work on your ride it pays them a reduced rate but it pays. I believe you can purchase them anytime in the life of your vehicle it will cost more after your original warranty expires but if you plan on keeping your jeep well worth it in my opinion.

Good to know. Sounds like this should be painless.

Reviving an old thread, I just got my 5 year inspection done today and all was fine. They even replaced the oil pan gasket under warranty. I've an '08 w/ 90k miles, 35's and lifted. It was painless and now I'm good for another 5.
