Default 5 inch backspacing

Hey guys,

I am looking at a pro comp 8188 17x9 8.5 inches wide with 5 inches of backspacing. Gonna run the 35 12.50 17 inch tires. Anyone done this and is the 5 inches too much backspacing? I have a 2.5 RC progressive lift as well. Thanks for the help.

factory is 6.25" and 4.5" is typically what i prefer to run but, 5" is a whole 1.25" less than factory and that will give you the room you need to clear your tires without rubbing. as far as the someone who told you to run 1/2" spacers go, i wouldn't take anymore advice from them. spacers of that size are dangerous and should NOT be used. you should only use spacers that bolt up to your axle and then your wheels to it and those will always be at least 1.25"-1.5" thick.

Thanks again! I just didn't wanna get these 5 inch backspacing wheels and it to rub the control arms. Thanks for you help. This is my 2nd Jeep but I have never really lifted a Jeep before. In your opinion would u say this setup would look good on this Jeep. I have a 08 unlimited Sahara, black.

I run 17x9 soft 8s with 5 inch B.S. and 35x12.5x17s and have had only very minor rubbing at full flex on the front LCAs
