I have the chance to snag a 5.7 from a 2011 grand cherokee for $500. I see they make a kit that includes most of the stuff I need by aev. Are there better kits? Will the 2011 work? Any info would be appreciated.

the 5.7 from the GC is not a good transplant, I've thought the same thing and the installer I spoke to listed the differences between the 5.7 in the GC and the 5.7 they use in the pickups.

if you're considering a swap, look at an LS - it weighs about he same as the stock motor (much less than a Hemi), all functions work and the install is cheaper than the Hemi.

Take a look at Motec - Home

Any first hand experience form anyone? Seems the AEV kit is complete just a simple swap. I would think 345hp has to be better then the 3.8's 202.
