Default 5.13 and stock Rubi tires

Since it is winter time and not much wheeling going on I decided to put my Rubi tires back on in order to save my 34's the daily wear. Needless to say, it is my opinion that the Jeep should have came factory with this setup. Around the hills of Colorado the Jeep now drives like most other cars. I actually stay in 4th gear for most hills now and the tranny shifts like butter. I did have to drive to Denver the other day and with the speed limit being 75 mph I got 16 mpg with the rpms sitting at 2800.

Cliff notes
5.13 + stock tires =
high speeds @ 75 mph w/ rpms @ 2800 = 16 mpg
5.13 + stock tires = auto tranny shifts like butter

My .02

just out of curiosity, did you make sure to recalibrate your speedometer after switching out your tires?

I am guessing part of the reason he is seeing lower RPMs is because the auto has a lower overdrive than the six speed.

I think the auto is .69, giving it a lower RPM in overdrive than the 6 speed.

something doesn't sound right, maybe you haven't recalibrated your speedo

I'm running 5.13's, 35's and an auto. I have recalibrated my speedo with a pro comp accu pro and verified it's correctness via GPS (I used the chalk method for correct tire diameter).

No I did and I used the accu pro as well. My speedo was spot on with the GPS as well. Maybe 1 mph off at 75.
