they arent, you do NOT loose top end, its not a race car from the 70's, I can cruise all day at 75-80, at 75 rpms are around 2500 you live in CO drive a lot of mountain highways? I would definitely go with 5:13's if not 5.38s.....I know one of the guys here did 5.38's in UT after teraflex recommended them and he loves them

I've looked at prices for gears as well as diffrent brands for going to 5.13's. I have a couple questions.
1.) How much can I expect to spend per axel to re-gear? Parts included?
2.) What brands of gears should I look for?

I did not notice much power lose with a 33x12.50 STT mudder with 3:73 gearing but I do have a 6 speed and I lost about lost 1 MPG going to a wider 33 tire. If I considered 35's I would have to re-gear around my neck of the woods...too many mountain passes

How do the unlimited's with 35's and 4.88's do on the highway? Are you more limited on the top speed or comfortable cruising speed of 75-80 mph. Our interstate speed limits are 75 mph. Approximately what are the RPM's at 75 mph on a flat highway? I'm pretty new to the re-gearing process, so any help and advice along those lines is appreciated. I've still got the stock 3.73's and it's been somewhat bearable, but I don't think I'm going to want to go any lower than 4.88's, depending on the advice you all provide.
I just came back from the Uintah mountains in eastern Utah via Wyoming and I could never get to 80 mph without having the RPMs at 4000 because of the stupid head winds and the hills were worse. Normal interstate driving, with out head winds, I find that I am running 3400 RPM to keep 75pmh (which is the speed limit) and OD just to high to maintain that speed. I am sure running in flat areas it would be much better. I wish 5.38s were out when I re-geared but I also thought I would never go to 37s either. Wheeling it is not that noticable.
Auto trans + 35" tires + 5.13 gears =

how are you guys getting so many mpg? i get like 170 miles per tank. I havent reprogrammed yet, but the difference between 32 and 35 doesnt change the odometer more than 15%
