How much would the levelling kit affect gas mileage? We just finished a 3000 mile road trip in our 2011 JKU. I wouldn't go any bigger than 33" Duratracs. I would like the levelling kit, but not if it makes the mileage a lot worse.

I ran 33's for 2.5 years without a lift.. If you want to, get a leveling kit with it too.

I did 33's without a lift for a few months. No rubbing at all on road, minor rubbing off road. I now have a RK 2.5" lift.

If you're not going to wheel it, a leveling kit or budget boost would be fine. If you want to wheel, 2" - 2.5" would be good. Don't go over 2.5" though, it won't look right and you would break your drive shaft.

I basically was looking for the same as you, I bought 305/60R18 Terra Grapplers and while they looked ok and did not rub on my stock 2012 I still wanted some lift.

I went with the Teraflex, 1.5inch leveling kit, which was very affordable, easy to install, and provided me with just the right amount of lift. It gave my Jeep that aggressive look without taking it to high, and my lady gets in and out no problem.

You can definitely run 33's with it and to be honest, I installed it and never looked back....and I have not had one issue! I highly recommend this leveling kit.

After i put the bigger tires on the rig a set of handles from master craft was the next little addition for the hobit sized passengers to get in.

I used a daystar 1.75in leveling kit when I first added my 33's. Nice little lift for under $200. I had to slightly trim the inside of the front bumper from a little rubbing. I later added 1.25in bodylift from rough country to go to 35's.

You can easily put 33" shoes on there.
Or you can do what I did, I got a set
of Daystar spring spacers,(1.75" keeping
it under 2" will not affect your steering
at all.) As an add bonus, it'll help level
-out your Jk so it sits straight,( instead
of looking like the nose is heavy.)
Do this and with 33" shoes you'll have
no rubbing.

I went with Falken Rocky Mountain 285/70R17 which measured out at 32". I ran this for awhile without a lift and was fine. I added the Daystar 1.75" Daystar spacer lift. With advise from others on this forum I removed the factory rear 1/2" spacer to level out the ride. Tried the Daystar Scorpion shocks with the lift and did not like the soft ride at all. Swapped out the shocks for Teraflex 9550's and love the stiffer ride. I'm 50 and it is a little higher. My sister is only 5' 4" and has trouble getting in. I do not mind it at all. Gas mileage went down a little with the tires, and a little more with the lift. About 1.5 mpg total. Though the tires measured out a little smaller than I was hoping I have been very pleased with them. Great ride and very quiet, much better than the stock tires.

I ran 33x12.5 Pro Comp A/T's with no lift for over a year after buying my JK new. My wheels are 17x9 w 4.5 backspace. No rubbing issues.
