40s lift info
Somewhere in the future I plan on doing 40inch tall tires... Ok well the far future. Just wondering how big of a lift do you need. I was thinking the teraflex 6in long arm. Or do you need a custom built lift

Plan man is(well was) running 40's on I think a total of 3.5" I lift, liberal trimming, and flats.
Heattreater is running 42's on 5.5" RK.
There are others, but what I'm getting at is you don't need a ton of lift (6"+) with the JK.

I'm running 39's (they measure 39 5/8" ) on a 3.5" rk lift. Cut fenders and no bumpstops. I need bumpstops in the front but the back is fine. You will need to trim the pinch seems in the rear and with a stubby front bumper, I am pushing my grill. The front bump stops should take care of that.

Mike, You really dont need as much lift as you would initially think. I think 6 inches would be over kill, especially on a 2 door. If you set the rear axle back about an inch with some generous trimming and flat fenders, you can probably run 40's with 4 to 5 inches of lift. Its really all about figuring a combination that works for you.
Oh, and the teraflex 6 inch kit will net you about 8 inches on a 2 door, if your installing a 4dr kit on a 2dr.
