40" tires

wow first post and going strait to 40's lol. welcome and you have alot of reading and searching to do to run 40's. the least of your concerns will be cutting up the fenders. axles, gears, lift, driveshaft, etc...... but to answer your question no if you put it up high enough and run enough bumpstop, but that is not the way to go in my opinion.

not sure they will either. plannman is running them on his and has done ok so far. as far as tube fenders i like my poison spyder ones. you will need to lengthen your bumpstops and you will most likely have to trim you pinch seem in the rear and maybe the front. what lift do you have?

With a 6" lift you shouldn't have a lot of trimming to do if you bumpstop properly. The tires are 8 inches taller the stock, and the suspension is 6 inches taller.
A 1 inch body lift should account for the last 2 inches. That would give you plenty of uptravel while running 40's.

Plenty of people get away with 37s on D35s. It really depends on how hard you are going to be on your rig. Hitting the rocks? No they wont last long on 44s. The front housing is still prone to cracking on the passenger side. If you have not already done so, sleeve that 44 and gusset the Cs. If you go to 40s you may be able to get away with running stronger axles for a while but 60s are really the way to go of you want it to last.

not to justify the cost and then go to 60's when it breaks. you can go to 5.38's when you do a front and rear 60. i would save for 60's if your going to go 40" tires.

As stated before I would get the D60's when you go to 40's. You are doing what I am going to be doing when I get back from deployment.
As for gearing and what not here is the best thing to use. Based off the chart if you have a 6 spd and want to run 40's it would be best to get the 5.38 although 5.13's would work it's just that 5.38 would be better. Plus for dropping the cash for the D60 might as well get it with 5.38's.
