AEV 3.5" DualSport RS Suspension System for 07-17 Jeep Wrangler JK | Quadratec

Here, you're gonna get a ton of different answers. Some people hate Bilstein shocks. They've been ok since I've run them but I prefer the beefiness of the FOX for a standard setup.

I've got the AEV 2.5" kit and it has been problem free for the approximate ~ 65k miles I have put on it for around the 3.5 years I've had it.

You get that 3.5" AEV kit, then you don't even have to worry about changing out drive shafts right away. It's a really easy install and it's suited more for overlanding (highway + moderate offroad trails) but that doesn't mean it can't do the hard stuff every now and then. My Jeep is proof positive of that. I wish I would have gone with the 3.5" from the get-go but it is what it is....

Really just comes down to how much you want to spend. The new JKS and the MetalCloaks are good. Some will say to look at Rock Krawler. That Frankenstein kit that the other member posted is actually pretty good too although I'm not a fan of the Teraflex shocks....

This is 2.5" AEV on 34's....

Great. I'm gonna go with this AEV kit. These geometry correction brackets aren't gonna cause me any problems if I don't change them right away? And I would definitely prefer Fox shocks too, that's what I run on my 3/4 ton. I appreciate the help and knowledge from everyone.

Keep in mind the AEV's only come with Bilsteins. I would like to have FOX but I am currently on the Bilsteins but I maybe swapping them out sometime in the future....

If you're hitting the big rocks like the pictures I've got posted and you find yourself doing those trails more often, you'll eventually want to ditch the correction brackets and go with legit set of control arms. There are a lot more options with now the longer fixed length control arms and the adjustables. For example, I'm using the JKS J-Axis on mine...

...but if you're not, you'll be fine with just the correction brackets. They're so good that pretty much every other manufacturer has copied AEV's design.

Which would be the better of the two, that AEV kit or this JKS kit with fox shocks?

The JKS is actually a pretty damn good kit at that price point. I would get it over the AEV and I have the AEV. It's a more complete kit say compared to the MetalCloak.

These are the closet 2 kits that MC has to that particular JKS setup and neither have a high steer kit included at those prices....

JKS
JKS Manufacturing JSPEC114K JSPEC? J Konnect 3.5" Suspension System for 07-17 Jeep® Wrangler JK 2 door | Quadratec

MC
$2850
JK Wrangler Game-Changer Suspension, 2.5"/3.5", Fox Edition

$1750
JK Wrangler True Dual-Rate Lift Kit, 2.5"/3.5", Fox Edition

People like the joints on the MetalCloaks, but the JKS at $2k is hard to beat in my opinion and the JKS control arms (fixed or adjustable) are pretty beefy as well with no maintenance on the bushings....

** You'll have to weld the front track bar "gusset" for the JKS though....
